The Last of Us

Aptly, I will start with a link to my small but growing collection of hopeful little fics for The Last of Us. I would like to add that if anyone has any prompts for The Last of Us that they’d like me to write, please send them to my inbox. I have been replaying the game lately, and am also starting to get excited for the sequel.

Red Dead Redemption 2

The Lily Farm - A big, romantic, canon divergent fix-it WIP, entering its final act. Ships are Arthur x Mary Beth and John x Abigail. This is a wholesale rewrite of Chapter 4 with a happy wedding plot, many crucial lives saved, redemptions achieved, and a daring escape for the van der Linde gang. Appearances by a couple of comedic Texas Rangers, Hamish Sinclair, Charlotte Balfour, and many OCs. If you’re looking for a happy, alternate ending to the otherwise sinking ship that is RDR2, with a good amount of romance, drama, and levity, you might find solace here.

That he may hold me by the hand - A quiet, pure romance for Arthur Morgan x Albert Mason. Not as “epic” or big as The Lily Farm, but much more focused on the two men and their relationship. A fix-it with canon divergent scenarios and ending. Also a WIP entering its final act

Yours, Sadie Adler - One-shot, ships Arthur Morgan x Sadie Adler. Post-canon, set during the epilogue. Sadie runs into John Marston, looks back on a secret relationship she had with Arthur in the months before his death. Sad, but an in-depth exploration of Sadie and her grief.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

The Dead Season - Solavellan. Completed! A big, canon divergent fix-it and wholesale rewrite of DAI, starting around Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. With Sene Lavellan and Solas’s relationship at the forefront, the story eventually opens into an exploration of Solas’s past, some Arlathan worldbuilding, and many many OCs, sub-plots, and smaller relationships that unfold. Happy ending.

Teen Wolf - A collection of short stories based around Solas’s life as a middle-class teenager living among the decadent decline of metropolitan Arlathan. Ship is Solas x Ghilan’nain, plus a big focus on Solas’s relationship with his mother.

Dragon Age Masterpost - A masterpost of my many little Solavellan, Abevellan, and Amerivellan pieces on tumblr. 

Last Call - A completed short chapter fic that revolves around a one-night stand between Sene Lavellan and Ameridan. Post-Trespasser, post-canon. Angst with a happy ending.

Horizon: Zero Dawn

Zero - Aloy x Nil. A wip longfic currently on a long hiatus. Slow burn focused around Aloy’s psychological development and Nil’s backstory, plus a lot of hurt/comfort, emotional support in a turbulent time, and friends to lovers stuff. PSA: I have been thinking of getting back to this story once I finish my RDR2 fics.

Are you surprised? Why?

I am mostly not surprised. Dirt is a marriage proposal, so fluffy, and it is clear from the prompt box that this is what it is. Furthermore, I had art commissioned for this, and linked the fic in the art post. It is a bit like cheating, and thank you @hansaera for beautiful art. I am not surprised about Touch either, it  is pertty explicit, and well... I AM surprised about Lifeline, I wasn’t sure this worked at all, but I guess it did. Kiss and Love are fluff and sweet, and I knew they would be up there. Unsaid is a little experimental, but I reblogged it recently and it got a lot of traction, and I think I managed to hit the feels. 

I am not surprised about the bottom ones. Sera & Lavellan is a OC answer I turned to a small drabble, Hiding and Cake or Death is Dorian/Trevelyan. I don’t interact with blogs for that pairing in general, and even so it seems Dorian/Lavellan is a much more popular ship. Vallaslin and Snow is about Branwen, my inquisitors little brother, so I didn’t expect that many people to read them (and the former also is in a joint sort of AU with @galadrieljones). I really lilked Snow, though. Little Joys is a Solavellan drabble, and I am not sure why it didn’t get more notes. It is a bit odd, I guess what I tried to do didn’t work.

I am surprised that my Figure Skating AU smut, The Dress (30), is not in top 5, in a way, I think it is pretty good. I guess the AU has less appeal, especially since it is just small pieces and not a full story. The biggest surprise was probably than Branwen (20) is not among the bottom 5, it is pre-Inquisition and feature kids and babies?

Averages:

69 works since 11/18/2017, average notes: 28, average words: 597 (total words 40572). I am surprised my words do so well, and very thankful. I do tend to reblog them a lot, and reblog my masterposts, which I encourage everyone to do. I am also deeply grateful to some good friends and cheerleaders, you should know who you are <3.

I ended up putting everything in a spreadsheet, with lots of things. I had some theories I wanted to test, and did some graphs and pivot tables. Under a cut, because... this is already a long post. 

Content type / avg notes: People only want smut!

You all need Andraste. (note that all my unpopular / non-Solavellan things are not smut which is probably what this really tells)

Publish Date / notes: I was wondering if I got better, and my later things had more notes, or if notes simply accumulate with time. I think I can say that is fairly inconclusive:

I think the dip in April has more to do with switching to AU rather than Canon. 

Word Count / notes: Is there an optimal word count for Tumblr reading? (Note here that my smut pieces tend to be longer than other. )

So it seems that over 1000 words, people drop off? Interesting.

genre / avg notes: I’m not sure my genres make much sense, but here we go

a little hard to draw conclusions, romance is popular, but it is also what I write the most of. 

verse / avg notes: Different settings. Ignore ‘other people’, sample size one (this is a gift with someone else’s OC)

Canon is the way to go!
